Homemade Sun Butter

Since going to baseball games are no longer in our summer plans ⚾️ 

Time to put all the sunflower seeds to new use! 

OKAY you’re probably thinking how I used to-  making seed or nut butter sounds like a hassle … 

Well, let me se-ed-ucate you. 🥜 

  1. One appliance.
  2. No heat needed.
  3. 10 minutes.
  4. Three ingredients.
  5. Inexpensive.
  6. As thick and creamy as the Whole Foods DIY machine spreads. 

✔️Creative Snacks Co. roasted sunflower seeds – AKA save yourself the time and oven use of roasting plain seeds!

✔️Maple syrup 

✔️Sea salt 

That’s literally all it takes to make your sunshine in a jar … 💗

Instructions
  1. Mix sunflower seeds in a food processor for 9-10 minutes.
  2. If the mixture is still dry and thick after 10 minutes of processing, process a little longer.
  3. Once the sunbutter has reached your desired consistency, pulse mix in maple syrup and sea salt.
  4. Remove the sunbutter with a spatula.
Recipe Notes

*Store in an airtight container at room temp for up to a week. Keep in the fridge for longer storage.

*Important to use roasted sunflower seeds. The roasting process allows the natural oils to be released and makes for a smoother and thinner texture.
